My CB77 has been running great all summer. My son and I ride our motorcycles whenever we can. He prefers my 82 650 Yamaha, I prefer the Superhawk. Last night we were on the highway heading for the races, it was running fine when all the sudden one cylinder cuts out. It did get me up a big hill and into the parking lot on one cylinder.

It had a full tank of fuel, and I could see fuel in both in-line filters to each carb, so I didn't think it was a fuel issue. I pulled the cover off the points and I didn't get a spark on the right set of points. After the races we rode home double on the Yamaha, and that was a treat. It took me several turns to remember I had blinkers, and when we got home I reached under my leg to turn it off and couldn't find the key! They don't make them like they used to :) We went back and brought it home in the truck.

This morning I looked at it again and put a light on the points, the right points had no power. We pulled the tank off and at the coil I found a loose wire. The wire broke off at one of the bullet connectors. I put on a new end and plugged it in. It runs like a champ. An easy fix. The hardest part was removing and replacing the tank when it's full :)
