CA77 Winkers?

Post by redlinerob » Wed Jan 31, 2007 7:24 am

Any suggestions for adding turn signals to my 1965 CA77. I will need a switch, a flasher relay and turn signals as well. I saw that there was a dealer option for a winker kit, but it seems impossible to find. Any suggestions?

Mine came with factory winkers so I'm not sure how the other have done it but it certainly wouldn't be a complicated process. The flasher and finding the right looking lights wouldn't be that hard. you could use a set off of a old Honda cub. The very similar to the factory ones on my Dream. the switch would be the tricky part but there might be someone out there that's done it before. If you want to see how mine looks you can go to The rebirth of a C78 305 Honda Dream It shows where the factory location of the switch is and also the lights and flasher. good luck.

I've seen a Taiwanese set of handlebar mount front signals on Ebay that match. The rear seems a little harder to find, but not impossible. I have yet to see a repro signal switch, though.
There is an aftermarket switch assembly that clamps on the bar next to the stock switch that is period correct. Sometimes you find them in shops that specialize in vintage Brit bikes. I'll have to see if I can find the distributor.
