And you're intending attempting a rewire? Rock-roll!

Do a search for <let's test a rectifier> and please read -- don't just scan over it -- then re-read. Don't stop until it's sunk in.

It's one of my earlier posts from when the charging system was less than clear to me, but the thought processes and the debates are all there.

Mate, I'm more than happy to help you understand; but I think attempting a restructure of the original wiring without a basic understanding of electrical principals is a recipe for disaster.

No disrespec' or condescension, but you'll thank me for this, one day! Without a basic knowledge of what a rectifier does, cable sizing & current capabilities there's a strong possibility of a burnout. I'm not prepared to enter into the whys and wherefores here & now but, rest assured, you are about to run the risk of ruining all your hard work (let alone burning down the house!).

Haha, thanks guys... Aparently what I lack in looks I make up for in smarts though... I got the whole bike wired up and it all works great! One smmmalll question... Whats the green cable coming out of the speedo for? Is it for that little red light in the speedo? I am confused as to why that red light doesnt light up. Let me know and your help/concern was appreciated... nothing that a bit of trial and error couldnt fix! ;)

Guys - Im going to need your assistance knowing what the heck this little green wire is on the speedo for sure, I spend another 10 minutes with it and I cant figure it out, its not in the diagrams.

The little red light should be the high beam indicator...I don't think it shows on the wiring diagram.
It should connect to the same hot wire for the high beam.
The green wire might be a grounding wire...not sure...what does it connect to...the middle post of the lamp or the side of the lamp socket?
