Help - Wiring Harness Diagram

Ive also listed my controls and the line colours for them below... Sounds like the switch is the grounding point, so I would need to run the reds (+) instead to the lights, becuase the switch is a grounding point when activated, not the other way around... The way we have it looks like the switch is a power (red +) point... get me?

Brewsky, on the Starter Magnetic SW why does your diagram have it bypassing the ON/OFF switch?
There are 2 reds running to it, one direct from the battery, the other running after the on/off switch... is this correct? I have highlighted by bypassing of the on/off switch with neon green circles.

It is correct as the large (thick) wire carries too much current to go thru the on/off switch.

The solenoid is actually a remote controlled switch that causes the two large (thick) wires to connect to each other to provide power to the starter motor. The small red wire (red/black on the original wiring diagram) carries the smaller amount of current to the solenoid to engage it when it is grounded by the starter switch on the handlebar (or in your case the arcade switch).

Not sure I follow you..

Some switches are grounding....ie the starter switch, neutral switch, horn switch

Some are not....ie.... headlight dimmer, winker, brake light switch

You need to undo the 2 red wire additions to the last drawing (at the winker lights), as the power is getting to them already from the winker switch, which gets it from the winker relay

Sasch: Your reinventing the wheel here; It would have been a whole lot easier to relocate the original switch where ever your new power switch is and rewired it with the same color code on the wires then added new wires to your arcade button to be in series with the switch (both would have to be on) you wouldn't have to be replacing the whole harness.

Sometimes a man needs to brake something beautiful... The existing wiring harness was great, but with my build, i may as well go that last mile and make an new harness that im familiar with.

Are you planning on a new rectifier?
If not you may want to reconsider as they can go bad with age.

You can also get OEM style modern replacement rectifiers from Ohio Cycle or Retrobikes, or replacements from Oregon Motorcycle Parts

Yeah one of the guys sent me the new rectifier...
I am going to figure out how to mount it still but I will probably go down the road of replacing it.
What does it do exactly anyways?
