H.I.D Xenon light on a CB72

I drive my CB72 around, particilar in the summer evenings, and I was always afraid being not seen by other people on the highway. I also needed more light to see more , so I was thinking about an H4 unit, but it consumes more power and is generating more heat then the original bulb.

I have tried to avoid those problems with an H.I.D. Xenon (6000 K), it consumes no more than 35 Watt and is generating less heat than the original bulb. I use an aftermarket reflector (H4 type, no conversion needed). It generates a lot of light (very white) but if you like yellow more you coul'd go for a lower color temprature like 4000 or even 3000 K.

I tried it on the road, superb !, If this works without any disadvantage I might try putting one in my 64' dream, I'll keep this forum informed,

Jensen, please give a little more info on the H.I.D. Xeon. Will it fit my CB77 Superhawk?

On the glass it's written H4 Super ZITZEN made in germany, the diameter is the same as the original reflector and thus fits in the headlight ring. So I geuss the aftermarket headlight is of brand ZITZEN, it's a reflector with H4 and pilot light (a pilot light is standard in the Netherlands).

The HID Xenon kit is from the brand PILOT, BI Xenon (HI / LO) see also their website for more info

The beam is almost the same as my H4, but much, much brighter and the color is white.
It consumes around 35 Watt (my own measurement). The Pilot ballast is under my feul tank, and is mounted just before the ignition coils. The voltage may vary between 8 and 16 V, and is attached on my batery.

I think the ballast of newer HID Xenon lamps will be smaller, so more easy to install. I wait for that before I build one it into my '63 dream.
