Gel Battery

Post by thepunisher2007 » Fri Jul 22, 2016 3:11 am

Quite simple can you use gel battery's with the these bikes. Mines a CL77 but i imagine its the same for CB's etc...

Having a few charging issues and i wondered if that may be the reason

Cheers

What are the charging issues?

Do you have a voltage regulator fitted?

These bikes did not have good (any) voltage regulation when built and a modern voltage regulator / rectifier can help.

it doesn't charge. just steadily goes flat when it's running. iv go a new reproduction of the original rectifier to put in but if you recomend an equivalent I'd welcome it. I'm reasonable sure the windings on the stator are faulty as they aren't constant resistance but while I'm waiting for a replacement to be delivered I needed to change the battery because I killed the one I have. I can get a gel battery for about £12 and there Easyer to get than acid ones
