How could this work ?How could this work ?OK so after some 2 years and a lot of miles I have just found out my neutral light was wired back to front that is the earth was live and the live was earthed but how come it worked OK.
Yes I rewired the bike when I purchased it and must have wired the neutral light wrong, it is now wired correct now and works. The bike has Charlies electronic ignition, a single phase electronic R/R same as this and works very well no problems http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rectifier-reg ... XQO21Rw2tI also fitted one of these and are just brilliant no matter how many times I have used the electric starter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motobatt-Batt ... SwEetV8Db0 I just do not know why the 35amp fuse did not blow when I wired the neutral light the wrong way.
If I understand correctly, and the two wires from the neutral indicator are swapped, there should be no effect since incandescent bulbs are not affected by polarity and the socket resides in a rubber boot with no connection to earth. If the bulb socket was directly mounted on the metal then yes a blown fuse should result.
Well thanks revolver that sorts that out for me. Now back to constructing my nuclear reactor were do's this red wire go.
