Well, I am no wiring genius. I guess that is pretty clear. This is a 1963 CA77 305 Dream. I was messing around behind the carburetor and some how pulled this wire out. It appears to come from under the points cover and is clipped behind the cylinder head. It is covered with a white fabric cover.
There is a wiring harness coming from the battery that has both a black and grey wire without connections...although these may have never had wires attached.
I know this is a pretty important wire as I have no juice to anything (lights, horn, starter, etc.) I have looked at the wiring diagram, but I can't find it and it doesn't appear to be color coded so I am pretty confused about where to re-attach.
Thanks for the help.
BTW, yes, I know how ugly the color is.
Disconnected Wire
Re: Disconnected WireLook at the points wires under the points cover. ....lm
Kind of hard to tell from the pic, but I believe what you have there is one of the condenser wires. One goes inside the points cover and the other connects to the green wire from the coil.

Re: disconnected wireThat wire, according to the diagram looks like the main feed from the ignition switch into the harness (feeds the horn, ign coil, 'winker' relay & stoplamp switch). The wire itself should be black; the cotton covering is, in fact, a heat resistant protector, as the wire is close to the engine castings and probably connects to the coupler block. Maybe the C77 experts can tell you where that is, but I reckon it's close to the ign switch and beneath the tank.
Does the neutral lamp light? That comes from the same ignition switch terminal 'IG', but directly from the switch itself, not the coupler block terminal. Hope this helps. Regards, Steve Edwards
