red or Blue
If you want the correct color neutral indicator light for a 1966 Dream it is blue. From the beginning of production they started out with red neutral lenses then switched to blue. I've had over 25 CA77s in my hands over the last 12 years, most of them unmolested original paint bikes. You have to take into account these bikes were titled in the year they were sold, not manufactured. A 1964 bike could have set for a couple of years and been sold in 1966. Now someone may argue that their 1966 Dream has a red neutral lense. You really need to go by the production number of the bike to verify what you have. Take a look at eBay item 310803313572. It is an original paint bike, listed as a 1966 and it has a blue neutral lense.
HT Your lamp has the blues.Tom you are right, they did indeed change the color of the lense on the CA. However the lenses were never blue. The blue lenses are just old green ones that were in the sun too long and faded to blue. I purchased many new indicator lamps under both part numbers listed (37700-259-000 and 37700-272-000) and when new they are green or red.
