battery question

Could I hook a lawnmower battery up to my dream to get it to start, im just wanting to see if the engine will run, I have ordered a new stock replacement battery, but I really wanna see if it will run.?? any ideas?

As long as it's a 12 volt battery. When I started my first Dream project a while back I used a car battery. Didn't bother with the cable for the starter though and I just kicked it over.
