Sirouus?
Surly you jest!
I've been involved with these bikes since I bought a 1962 CL72 in 1963 and I've restored apx. 25 of these issues (C/CA/CB/CL72/77) plus rebuilt apx. 50 engines for them so I pretty well know the bikes and engines.
And you?
I have offered you many reasons HONDA did not issue the stator with that wire.
NOW IF YOU WILL TAKE A "GOOD LOOK " AT THE STATOR SHOWN BY JENSEY YOU WILL SEE THE WIRE IS GREEN/RED" NOT JUST GREEN.
You have the same GREEN/RED wire on your stator.
Thank you for your support jensen. ...................lm

Loud Mouse: Can you tel me why another Dutch guy have's several stators with also this green wire? Because it's home made on his stators his too?? I don't think so!!

Hmmm, could it be something for Europe models only?

I'm not talking about the green/red wire..

And sure I will beleive you If you tell me you have more experience on this bike then I..
Then you also know that you can find the thickness, name of manufacturer and sometimes year of manufactury on the wire..

Now this (not original) extra green wire have's the same text on it as the rest of the wiring on the whole bike.. How you explane that?
Also the oilsleeve of all wiring looms are of the same type..

That's just the strange part about it, like I told in some previous posts..It looks so original!!
The extra holes in the stator are not hand drilled, they look so nice and are very nice finished, that's no home work..
And that's someting I can see, because I'm an engineer and I only repair and restore very differend engines, from Little Honda to 13L Paccard engines, from Vintage, prewar to young classic engine.. and that for work (with complete workshop with machenery and knowledge) and hobby ..

I see allot more then only Honda engines..

I want to ask this question also to some other Honda Dream collectors and to the man who did the maintenance in the past on this C78 (he did the maintenance for the previous owner)
If I have some differend answers from them I will post them!

Merry christmas to all!!

I ask this question to another friend of mine.. He's an early Dream collector, he has only C76 and early C77's.

He answered right away!

This stator with 4 wires + 1 for neutral is realy ORIGINAL HONDA!!
This stator is a very early C77 stator (+/- 1960). The extra green wire was for the condensor.
The condensor was fit at the outside of the stator on the early C77's and not at the cilinderhead.
The C76 stator had this too but not only the condesor was fit outside the stator but also the ignition coil.
Later C77 stators have 3 wires + 1 for neutral this because the condesor got a new place, the cilinder head.

So my C78 do not have his original stator anymore but it is original for an early C77..

Happy New Year to everyone!

Ronald
