Good luck with your custom, that's a pretty radical build.
You mentioned using Armaflex as a thin seat cushion material for your custom.
I'll be refoaming and recovering a CL77 seat for the first time soon and had been planning on using built up rebond carpet padding with a top layer of a different foam for comfort/finished look.
I hadn't thought of using Armaflex; what's been your experience using that product, where do you get it?

Welcome to the forum ... I do like your appropriate name :) .. and the clever use of the rear shock.

Hotshoe,
I have used armaflex on several builds now and am in love with the stuff. It is very comfortable with minimal thickness (almost as comfy as a gel pad), shapes easily with an electric carving knife (yes they are still available for purchase), can be layered using GP spray adhesive, if there is a downside to it then it has to be the price. Aprox $45 USD for a 3'x4' sheet of 1" thickness. I got my last sheet from a HVAC supply shop in New York but if you call around you should be able to get it local to you. company name: Armstrong, product name: Armaflex, intended purpose: heat/ air conditioning duct insulation.
