Trimming back the plug wires

Post by britman » Tue Aug 26, 2008 9:00 pm

While going through some older threads I saw where it was suggested to trim the plug wires back 1/4 inch to increase spark. I can't seem to locate the thread again after searching. If anyone recalls this remedy could you please expound on the procedure. I presume it refers to the plug wire end going into the cap, not the coil?????????

Tis very simple. Figure that both ends of the wire was threaded onto a pin at the cap and pushed onto a sharp pin in the coil and after many years the wire would oxidize or just wear away so if ya trim/cut 1/4 inch off ya have new wire surface for the currant/spark to travel through. ..........lm
