Coils?

Post by shotzinky » Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:11 pm

Hello,

Are coils from a CL77 and CB77 the same? I am not getting any spark on my bike and I think the coils may need to be replaced. Thanks for any help.

You have several things to check before you replace coils. Connections, points adjustment, battery (12 volts) to the coils, coil wire ends are contacting the sharp points in the coils and plug caps. ..........lm

Brian, you have the electric ignition on your bike. You need to check if power is getting to the coils. Remove tank, turn on ignition, and check the black wire on each coil with a test light. You can call me and let me know what you find. I doubt that the coils are the problem.
