Chrome plater in Midwest?
Chrome plater in Midwest?I need some info. I am in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area. I had most of the parts rechromed on my 66 CL 77 by a local plater. Well I messed up one of the pipes and it needs to be rechromed. The plater I used has gone out of business as far as I can tell. So I need to find a reputable and reasonable plater soem place in the midwest. Can anyone give me a lead to a decent plater?
Thanks Jon
Ron
I dont think I will make the swap meet on Sunday. I did send that pipe to Quality Plating in Sterling IL and they told me 4 weeks so lets see what happens. I had some more bad luck however. I bought some NOS 3 over pistons and rings so I sent the cylinders to a machine shop and he destroyed one of the liners when boring. I am nost sure what the outcome will be on that. If I were going I would give you the shock tool. If you want I can send it to you. Let me know. Jon 1966 CL77
2010 1200x 2013 Road King Tool and chromingHey Jon,
Would be great to borrow that tool, I will re-imburse for the shipping here, and back. Ron Seibel 8974 Pine Lane Fremont, Wi. 54940 Advise on how to use it, or I can place a general request on the forum too. Went to show n swap meet, not much there for Honda guys, mostly all Harley. But the bikes were all awesome to look at. It was really croweded too, a few old Honda 750's, 550 fours, no scramblers at all. Lots of Harley clothing, much leather. Anyway, better luck on the machining for the engine! And the chrome, well I saw nothing at the show even advertising the service. Last time I had anything chromed was on an old Corvette back in the 90's. I have heard the new environmental laws make this very very expensive. Thanks. I will post some new pics of my project once I get those shocks back on...I still must paint the side covers, chain guard, and the tank. Later, Ron
