Right crankcase cover Polished or Painted?

Post by bbap » Thu Jan 06, 2011 2:03 pm

Cleaning up my side covers and trying to determine if the right crankcase cover's round 6" Mag., Cover is polished aluminum or painted? I realize the case's are painted, but just wondering about the mag., cover.

I really hope it's painted as I can see it would be tough to get the luster back on this one!

Thanks!

Steve

OPSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Some DREAM covers were sort of a flat finish not polished.
I use my "small as flour" round glass to blast them then apply 5 coats of satin clear.
Same for the DREAM points cover. ........lm

Thanks again, LM. I think mine was not polished. I took it down with 400 grit and finished up with 800 and some Mothers and I can get a decent shine, but it's not super bling.

I think it more durable this way than with a coat of paint. I'll see how it holds up....and do the same to the points cover.
