CL77 spokes

Post by Ford Guy » Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:36 pm

Hey all
I was taking my wheels apart to get the rims rechromed. On the rear rims there was a beveled washere of sorts between the rim and the spoke nipple. The front rim did not have these. I did notice that the washer has caused alot of rust in the rim opening. What is the purpose of these washeres and should they be there.

The quote I got for rechorimg the rims was $175.00 each. I have seen alot of thier work and it looks good they electricaly remove the chrome them polish out the pits and rechrome. They are going to remove the chrome from the front rim and give it back to me so I can take a few small gouges out then they will polish chorme it and repolish. I will let you guys know how they turn out but would appreciate some help on the Beveled washers.

Thanks

Jon

CL77 spokes

Both rims on my CL77 have the beveled washers but I have inquired with several sources and have neither found a PN for these nor does anyone that I've found carry them.

I believe they were furnished with OEM spokes.

Your front rim should have them. The nipple radius rides in them to swivel easier.

I can make them if you need. Not sure of the cost as I had all I needed.

I do have some from another wheel I tore apart but they are not in the best shape. If I remember correctly, some were reusted in two.

Let me know.
