CB77 badge *without* "300"?

Post by 3030vision » Sun Jun 18, 2006 5:56 pm

Hi all,
I'm back onto getting my CB77 road-worthy ASAP, and therefore back to thinking about some of the details like badges.

My '64 CB77 has one silver and one gold/copper badge, neither of which has the "300" on it (only "Honda"). From what I've seen on here, I understand *most* of these bike of this year had the "300" badges, like this:

I haven't seen much (or anything?) mentioned about the plain "Honda" badges pictured below (from my bike). Does anyone know if this is just another variation, or a badge from another bike?

While I'm at it, I've noticed the mufflers on my bike appear to be stock, but cut a little shorter than the stock bikes. I guess that's likely to be a pure custom job? The bike just appears pretty straight-stock, and I bought it from the original owner.

Thanks!!

Have you removed the badge and looked at the back? I have 2 badges which looked similar and when I looked at the back I found someone had machined the back out and painted it black. Lots of pipes were cut short for a couple of reasons. Damaged, rusted out or just for more tone/noise. ............lm
