Just for interest the definitions of the WM sizes can be found here.

Interesting that you can still get cad plating done in the USA. It's banned in the UK (toxic heavy metal and all that). Would be interesting to know if it still gets done in California as almost everything there seems to get a health hazard label on it.

I know cadmium is very much frowned upon now, environmentally speaking. Interestingly, though, DID (Japan) still manufacture cad-plated spokes. TC's spokes were DID.

Steve, yes, cad and chrome plating are still done in California, a bit of a surprise to me as well with all of the tree huggers, and radical enviromental groups! We can still ride our dirt bikes, although in state parks it's green sticker only bikes from may thru October!
