Barber Museum?

Post by Vince Lupo » Sat Aug 25, 2007 4:31 am

Anyone going to or been to the Barber Museum vintage event in October? I think this is their third year holding the three day event, and was interested to know if it was worth attending. My plan was to ride down next year, but it's about 1000 miles one way from Baltimore to Birmingham.....worth the effort?

I plan on going this year. I'm hoping the third year will bring folks and items to see/buy. Got my room all set and now I just need to drive from S/W TEXAS. .................lm

I'd say it's worth going anytime! Especially when you live somewhere that puts you in line with taking Skyline Drive, the Blueridge Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway and maybe a trip on the Dragon to get there!

Yep, I would not miss this. Attended the first two and it gets larger each year. Been to the museum five times and after about 3 hours someone has to wipe the drool off my chin. Mr. Barber wants this to be the Mid-Ohio VMD of the southeast and he usually gets what he wants.

Sounds good to me! The plan is to ride the SuperHawk beast from Baltimore to Birmingham next October for the three day event - probably about 2,000 miles round trip. I understand that it's in the middle of nowhere and accommodations might be an issue.....is that true? If anyone attends this year and takes any photos, I'd be interested in seeing them in a subsequent posting!

Barber

I'm loading up tonight and heading out to Barber in the morning.
This is the 3rd year for this event and my 3rd year at the swap meet.
Last year there was tremendous growth over the first year and I'm expecting it to be even larger this time. I recieved a notice that ALL the swap meet spaces are filled.
As far as vintage meets go, this is one is a never miss event for me.
It has so much to offer with the museum, races, vintage shows for Japanese, American and European bikes, Swap meet , forums, auction, and even an air show.
All this in a immaculate setting and put on by a highly professional and organized staff.

My buddy Danny and I hope to see you there.
Stop by A11 and say Hey.

My journey to the Barber is going to have to wait until next year -- just came back from a three week driving trip in Europe, so no trips are planned for the rest of this year!
