My Honda Dream C77 1967-68
My Honda Dream C77 1967-68Hi All,
I just wanted to introduce my self to the forum, My name is Kapil Bhardwaj, I own a Honda Dream C77, 305CC Twin in an emaculate condition, This is my first vintage bike, i saw it at a friends place who is into selling old vintage bikes and scooters and just went ahead with the deal. I am very happy with my decision to buy this bike. Hope you people like it. Please get in touch and keep telling me things about the bike Regards Kapil
Kapil, welcome to the forum -- please send me a king prawn bhuna (no rice) and Bombay aloo NOW! Peshwari nan on the side. My absolute favourite cuisine, Indian; Japanese is a very close second!
A very different-looking dream there, mate. Nice mix of colours. Post any questions; you're in good company here. I've only just devoured a full English roast beef dinner, lovingly prepared by my expert cook..... errrr, wife, and just seeing that you're from India has made me bloody hungry! PS: the handlebar needs rolling forward about 15º. And get your hair cut!
Re: steveHi Steve,
Thanks for advising a hair cut... i must get one before it fets too expensive.. The food awaits you in india.. its not just the food, but the ambience that makes it india.. so much more when you come to india next. With my honda, i am facing two problems, i have no idea why the self ignition is not working and the spring for the kick, as it dosent comes up by itself... any suggestions, where can i get that spring else is great.. thanks for the reply Regards Kapil Bhardwaj
Hey Kapil,
Your dream looks to be a very nice machine. I really like the two tone scheme. As for parts just about everything can be sourced from http://www.cmsnl.com but it is not the cheepest way to go. eBay is a great source of parts for me. You can also try the parts forum here. However the first thing you need to do is find out why your starter motor is not working. I would begin by using a voltmeter to see if the starter button is supplying power to the starter motor. If it is not I would then "jump" start the bike with some wires straight from the battery to make sure the starter motor does work and the battery is powerful enough. Once you have established that it is either a starter motor issue or a wiring issue then you are half way there. It is usually the wiring... (which is good as it is the cheeper of the options to fix) The kicker not returning sounds a bit more serious. I have never encountered this problem, but it sounds like the return spring might be broken. You will need a manual to tackle an issue like that. There are electronic manuals available under the literature tab on the left.... here is a shot of me in India (Dehli tourist camp) getting ready to ride my Bajaj Chetack to London http://members.iinet.net.au/~eastwood/s ... 20trip.jpg Great little bike if you have any questions this is the place, it has helped me enormously.
