C92 Magneto re-assembley

Hi, I am reassembling my c92 and I am a bit stuck.
I need to install the AC dynamo rotor, part number 31101201094
The problem is that it has rollers on the back that when under pressure recess back into the rotor, however when trying to put it on they are not recessed and thus foul on the Dynamo stator base.

Should I have assembled these parts before fitting to the engine somehow, is there a special trick or is it a simple case of me not hitting it hard enough (I have not hit it at all yet).

Any advice is welcomed!!

I think I got it, I rotated the starter chain in reverse while applying a small amount of pressure and it fell into place...
