Just got back from the Stafford show.

Here is an album of pictures of Allen's incredible 374cc Six built by fusing two Yamaha FZr250 engines together.

Most parts he made in his home workshop, including th egorgeous frront hub machined from an aluminum billet.

He also made the tank, seat and aluminum fairing using just a hammer and dolly. Incredible skill and it took less than 12 months to build.

The last picture is one of George Beale's run of 8 replicas, up for sale at £450,000 (about $620,000)

I've been following this build in classic motorcycle mechanics, in the last issue he'd just built the the crank shaft. It still amazes me how he does most of his work just by looking at what he feels is right and not using drawings. The finished bike Is just stunning, what an engineer.

Was there as well and spoke to him and he pointed out that its got a CB72/77 rear brake.
Did have to fiddle with the brake cams as of course the wheel rotation is now reversed.
Apparently a bit loud for the road ... talk of 120-130 dB !

I had an FZR250-4 and it was quite amazing, with care you could go from 4k to 19k RPM in top and when I first got it there was a hole in the silencer ( 4 into 1 ) so it made a wonderful ( if illegal ) noise.

His brother said he'd heard the Beale 6 hadn't run lately, unfortunately I hadn't won Friday's mega Lottery so didn't bid; do we know if it sold ?

Hi Phil

Front brake plates are also modified CB72 versions with jiggery-pokery to re-locate the pivot points.

Also CB72 are the front fork tubes which I donated in exchange fro a detailed insight into how the front brake work was done...... :-)
