And yes, his pegs are ground almost completely off...rubber and metal! When he announced he was going for the Iron Butt on Deals Gap, I thought surely he would die in the process...but he did it with time to spare. I learned my lesson several years ago trying to keep up with a little old man on a 1500 Gold Wing going across the same section. I was on a 750 Magna which is a pretty good handling and powerful cruiser. I thought I was going to wear the shifter out between 1st and 2nd the whole way. I can't believe I missed this thread. Been watching for the last couple weeks. Happened to be doing a Honda right here in Ypsilanti, Mi. Cool stuff indeed. I still havn't grasped the whole concept of chopping a 50 year old motorcycle frame to pieces. But the results are quite impressive at any rate.
