I just purchased a 68 CA78 Dream... What's the difference between a CA78 and a CA77 ???

From what I understand it was simply a numbering change. I believe Loud Mouse has more information on this.

CA77 vs CA78

Change from CA77 to CA78 occurred mid 1963 (April?). Engines remained the same CA77E (with running changes per parts manuals). So the differences are essentially early vs late frame parts.

LM is correct. You can make a "bitsa bike" out of a mixture of early and late parts with only a few issues.
