67 CA77 NO Spark

Cleaned and reset point gap, checked and reset timing, Pulled both plugs and with fresh battery and plugs touching ground--cranked engine and got no spark. Plug wire boots are tight with clean connections. Battery connections are good. How do I test the coil, condenser, etc. for output?

Check your fuse if you haven't already.

Fuse is good---I have 12V past it.

Was it running before you did the described work?
Did you try starting it with the plugs installed?

It's a new purchase--I put it fuel (it leaked out the petcock) tried starting it anyway and got 1-2 pops but nothing close to starting. I pulled plugs (not fouled but old) and used a bit of spray starter---no reaction. Upon inspection the timing (I marked the plate before doing anything) was off probably 50-60 thousands of an inch for F=mark.
The bike was repainted several years ago (red to black) and the bike just looks verry original--doesn't have the typical buggered up bolt and screw heads etc. Only missing the left side corb cover.
I am heading out to the barn not with plans to go over ever electrical connection, ground, then check for juice coming out of coil to dist block for plug wires---cut back the wires 1/4" and try new test plugs for spark. Will update shortly~~~~Huck

POINTS---Don't know what brand but somehow they built up a film of something that totally blocked the path when closed. Hard to believe, I went over them with a point file and some fine sandpaper. Never saw any pits or build up but when I used an ohm gauge and got nada from the baseplate to the points condenser lead---I knew where the problem was. Perhaps some aftermarket POC --don't know but I probably filed on them 2-3 minutes before I saw a nice shine. Then when closed--we got spark. So I buttoned up the wiring, finished my clean up and put a new lower gasket into the petcock---put some gas in the tank and VAROOM!!! No missing, just that sweet rumble from a 67 Dream.
So now it onto adjusting the idle mix screw and the idle speed screw and it will be time to take it out for a little ride.

That's great. It's frustrating but I always keep reminding myself that I'll figure it out sooner or later.
