This is my Frame Number of my bike
CA78 1028109 How to I decode it to figure the year model

Hi John;

I believe its a 1964 Type II...


Anybody have a different opinion...?

As there are 7 digits it won't be a 1964.
1965 maybe.
Look for a small white tag taped to the silver wire harness under the tank. .................lm

Now that the number is 1028109 do you still think it is a 1964. ..............lm

Well, according to that Engine and Frame ID History, the "'64 Type (2) shows the CA78 Frame and Engine No. History' as containing seven numbers beginning with "1000001 - " as opposed to the '64 Type (1)'s that have Six numbers beginning with "100001 - "

According to that sheet, anyway. How are you identifying it?
