Where's all the carb dust covers for the CA77???

Post by daywalker » Tue Jun 04, 2013 1:56 pm

I'm looking for a carb dust cover for my CA77. The only ones I can find are low quality ones at insane prices. If anyone would like to be a stand up guy and offer me one for a decent price, I would really appreciate it. That's all I need to make my bike complete and I don't have that much money to spend on one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The answer is no - As you are beginning to find out they are scarce and when you find them they are expensive. Doubt anyone is going to give you a deal on a set. If you find extra ones let me know - I need a set.

It's probably a conspiracy, Lol. Snatch all the carb covers and make insane profits. :P

I think they got taken off and tossed in a dark corner of the garage next to the lower chain guard to be forgotten and then tossed years later when the bike was long gone.

Hi,

Back in the days carb covers, at least one side, were lost during riding bumpy roads.
People didn't want to invest buying a new one, so they take the other one off also, and got lost.

I heard this story from two dealer ships in the Netherlands, I don't know it's true, but I can confirm that it is possible to loose a carb cover during a bumpy ride. I found mine back, so I was lucky.

I don't think Honda did make a lot of them extra, so yes, hard to find.

I guess there's no real need for them to be on the bike. They don't even bring a lot to the table cosmetically. Probably why older generations didn't buy replacements. Found one in decent condition for $125 but the guy was a jerk and the deal fell through. Oh well.

I just got my new Dream and found there was 4 boxes of parts with it. It has the carb cover now! It also has a few other handy attachments. :)
