First Ride In 22 Years - Thanks for all the Help!First Ride In 22 Years - Thanks for all the Help! Thanks to all the enthusiastic people on this site I dug in and got my CA77 running, streetable and registered for the road over the past few months. Couldn't have done this so quickly without all the answers and tips throughout the site. The first road trip to a Cars n Coffee went great. It is amazing how many people remember seeing or riding an early Honda.
After some more miles the next project is to take it apart and paint it. A beauty, Perdrom. Shining like an icicle, too.
Are your top end bits (tappet covers, points cover) chromed or just insanely polished? I'm assuming chromed- I spent about 2.5 hours buffing my points cover and it still is a tad spotty and nowhere near as shiny as yours. Like the look of the chromed starter motor caps, too. To hell with paint sez me- get that thing on the road and let the people see it! '63 CA77 - Giving me all kinds of headaches.
'64 CA77 - Patiently waiting it's turn '65 CB77 - A 'great winter project' Chrome?houseowax, per your question the top end bits and starter cover are chromed from many years ago.
As you and other suggested I'm riding and enjoying it as it is for now (with a gas cap) and will tackle disassembly and paint when it gets too cold to ride. As you can see in the background I also have an old 4-wheeler that has heat and loves to run on cool days.
