I can't imagine the amps would be all that much, but electricity is NOT my forte'. Good point about the headlight, though.
And if you work out a wiring diagram for that switch, that would be awesome! Heck, make a YouTube video for the install...
Speaking of which, ever seen a guy called 'Mustie1' online? He has a series of videos he calls "will it run." and gets all these old machines - cars, bikes, old VW's, engines, etc. - and gets them going again. Each video takes on average about 45 minutes to watch, but he does such a good job with them you get sucked in.
The one he did on the 1970 CB350 got me hooked - just sayin'...

Start Switch Repair?
I'm not impressed at all with the quality the ebay switch, and will not use it for my dream.
The detents are vague and sloppy feeling, the connections are smaller, and wiring it up would be a compromise anyway. I have an EMGO #40-37600 (rated at 25 amps) which is a much better quality and only about 10 bucks, which I may use if any. If you can repair the original, it would be best. To use any other than original will require you to alter the charging system performance. The original switch connects the pink and yellow (DY and SE) wires together to connect an additional lighting coil only when the headlight is in the on position. You could just connect them together outside the switch, but you would need to run the headlight on all the time or risk overcharging the battery while running. If you do that, then the headlight would be on during starter use (it is not with the original switch). (unless you install a separate headlight switch in it's circuit) Another advantage of the original, is that it allows for a "prime" starter position (starter cranks, but ignition not on). This is handy since the dream is very cold blooded on initial startup. 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
