That looks like an amazing finish you've managed in your back yard, G-Man. Almost like bike twins, but my front fender hasn't been powder coated, and my swingarm has. Not sure why that was, but it looks like the fender may have been welded, or brazed/filled at some point.

I'm led to believe that the PC is RAL5005 - 'Signal Blue', but I note you've used VW India Blue for yours. I'm khacking myself to have to paint some of the other pats to match the PC - fender, shock tops, side covers, etc. Can't wait to get started on putting it all back together. Still not sure if/what I'm missing.

I had the inside of my chainguard matched at my local paint shop. I don't think Honda had good consistency with their paint shades and it seems that the Americans got a lighter blue than Europe for some of the Dreams. I think that my '60 C77-A may have been the same colour as yours.

I don't like giving people money for things I can do myself. :-) I started painting bikes when I was a teenager and that's a long time ago now...

You can go here for a replica 255 light lens. They make pretty nice stuff. Originals are rare and expensive but you might get lucky....

I also live in Bristol and have restored a 1964 Dream to full UK spec it took about four years to get it done and I finished it about three years ago.
If you want to have a look at it and go over any things you are not sure about let me know.

Wow guys. Really useful stuff, and thanks for the kind offer Brian.

My studies are now complete so I'm looking forward to making a start on the Dream 305. I have managed to find a few parts for it from UK eBay including a NOS tank side, front indicators, and the correct NOS 'narrow' battery (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222116316100? ... EBIDX%3AIT).

My bike ramp is now in place and has currently got the RD350 sat on there so that I can get the engine running before storing that bike and getting on with piecing back together of the Dream.

Not sure where to start, but I also have to find out about registration as the bike was imported before NOVA but I have no HMRC (customs) paperwork to show DVLA.

Let the fun begin! ;)

My CL came without any paperwork, I rang HMRC and told them I had a Honda which had obviously been imported at some time probably before NOVA, they told me what form to use and an address in Liverpool to send it to with a copy of the receipt, I quickly got a letter back to say no duty/vat owing and a NOVA reference #. When the bike is complete insure on the frame #, get an MOT, a dating certificate from an authorised club and then you can speak to the DVLA to register it.
