You need to consult your parts diagram.

PN 22844-200-000 is the "clutch adjuster fixing piece" and it tightens against the big chewed up piece you can now turn and stops it from turning so your clutch adjustment will stay put. There is a 6x40 bolt that goes through that hole and into the "fixing piece" to provide the clamping action. Better pull that side cover off and put that part back in there.

LM - I think i see what the problem here is...

So if i turn that grey circle to the right, there is a hole under it... I dont have a bolt in that hole... am I supposed to? Is that the bolt you are talking about that will keep it from returning to the left once ive turned it right?

Any suggestions on replacing that?

Ya can adjust the rest of the assembly by loosening the bolt with the 10mm head and turning the large slotted part to the right then tightening the bolt. ...............lm

so i managed to get all the cables inplace today, realized that because i dont have the correct clutch lever, its not getting enough leverage to pull the clutch to free the gear... anyone have experience with this isn the past? Ive put both the bolt on the clutch cover and the bolt on the lever to the max length and it doesnt help.. How can I make the clutch contact point more shallow?

Can I simply get a replacement bolt that is 6x40?

Can someone please chime in on the 3:00 position comment I made on the engine casing?
Im wondering what this bolt threads into... Im asking for a bit more help here. I already have a parts manual.

Can you post a picture of the bolt for me, one of it in the engine casing holding the adjuster and one of it out in your hand? I know that sounds like a funny request, but it helps so I know what this thing is... Thanks pal!

and click on the CB77 service manual. There might be some slight differences, but the area in question should function the same. It should give you an explanation of how to adjust the clutch properly.

No offense but I cant see where there is value in this for me...
It doesnt speak in detail about how this bolt connects inside the engine casing and two of the bolts are stripped on the casing so its not going to be coming off without a serious amount of effort here. I just need to know two things guys:

1. What size bolt do I need, please be as specific as possible
2. Does the large bolt have to line up or be in a certain position to get the bolt to hold it in place?

There is not really a way to take a meaningful picture of the bolt installed in the case.

Find the page in your parts manual for the "Kick Starter - Right Crankcase Cover" The bolt is a standard 6x40mm bolt and it threads into the fixing piece to provide a clamping force against the clutch adjuster. I suspect the fixing piece might still be inside the case but out of position and the bolt is hitting it when you try to put it in. You might try pushing the bolt in until it hits and then gently turning it on the off chance the fixing piece is still in place the bolt might screw right back in it.

If that doesn't work (and maybe even if it does if you want to be sure) you will have to take your right cover off. Whether the fixing piece is missing or whether it is in there but blocking the bolt from going in the hole, your clutch will not stay adjusted unless this mechanism is assembled correctly.
