I read an article in Motorcycle Classics magazine that mentioned there are early model and late model 1963 Honda 305 dreams. Does anybody know what VIN is the cut off for an early model or late model? Is that the same for the 63 Super Hawk and if so what VIN might that be?

There were equite a lot of changes to the Dream in '63/'64. The Superhawk less so. The diameter of the front forks changed (at the lower triple clamp) in '63 from 38mm to 35mm but most of the changes on the CB72 and 77 happened around late '61 into '62.

Check out my '61 CB72 restoration thread for some of the early detail changes.

You can see most of the numbers where parts design changed if you get hold of the Honda parts manual for your bike.

Not sure What to do

Post by Dreamsuperhawk » Mon Oct 30, 2017 10:32 pm

So it's been a while since I first joined. I've put a lot of thought into whether to restore or sell. I either need a mentor to work with or sell the 63 Dream as is. Is there someone out there that wants the project? Or should I part it out??
See secure link for photos. pwd is Dreamcycle some Super Hawk photos at end too.
