1966 Honda Dream restoration

Hello I am thinking of purchasing this 66 Honda dream, for $700. I have never restored a bike befor but I'm a good DIY person. Could someone please tell me what they think the possible repairs may be and maybe a ballpark estimate of the cost. I would really appreciate any info.

Also The seller said the motor spins but has not been started, and its missing a side cover and head light.

$200, tops. Looks like a 150cc, see what others have to say.

A 125 C92 or 150cc C95 Benly. Also known sometimes as a "Baby Dream". If you want something to ride eventually, I would look our for a 250 or 305. It will cost just as much, if not more, to restore the small bike.

Just my thoughts and my observation but it all depends how far you want to go with your restoration. Do you just clean it up, replace tires etc for a few hundred bucks and ride it.. Or do you spend thousands of dollars in a full restoration, it all depends what you are happy with. If you go down the full resto route it is an engine rebuild even if it is a runner, new wheels, new seat, complete re spray, everything re chromed, new mufflers. In fact new everything. But what a sight to be proud of when it's done as my C95 was back in 1986 that set me back $3000.

Can I just clean the chrome, I read somewhere that's the most expensive repair. I really appreciate all the input!!!!!!. Thank you

You can do whatever you want. Remember chrome is a very thin decrative coating on steel mufflers and once water has got through to the steel as in your picture very little will bring it back it will just keep on corroding.
But if you like riding something that resembles a pigs dinner leave it as it is, it's your bike, who knows someone might like it!!.
