CA77 brake light switch hookup.CA77 brake light switch hookup. Can someone take a picture of the way the springs are on the rear brake pedal for the switch. I just picked up a 65 and it seems to put slack at the switch when I press on the pedal. The shaft is pretty sloppy too if that makes a difference. The bike has seen better days for sure.
Re: CA77 brake light switch hookup.I'm not quite sure, but is this what you're looking for?
Re: CA77 brake light switch hookup.Yes that's it. Beautiful shape that bike. The spring you show there is hitting on the swing arm on mine. I believe the lower arm is sitting too far to the rear. I only see the one stop that holds it in position. Back out to the garage. You need to preload the brake so that the arm is just taut with the spring.
This is easier as a two person job as one person will need to keep the arm cocked and held in position on the left while the other person mounts the brake pedal on the right. As I don't have the luxury of help in my garage, I had to use zip ties to hold the arm cocked (zip tied to the muffler hanger) and a piece of wood wedged against the mechanism and a wall to keep the spindle from pushing in on the right.

Yes that was the problem. It wasnt preloaded against the header on the right, all good for now. Thanks everyone
