Hi,

dream headlight, European style. Not sure if original Honda, maybe after market part.

HEADLIGHT

Post by LOUD MOUSE » Thu Feb 13, 2014 8:20 am

I rode a 1962 CL72 (have pic of me sitting on it) and one morning when I turned the key I had smoke from the headlight to the battery.
I removed the tank and seat and found a fried wire from switch to headlight bucket. (As I recall it was the GREEN wire)
Inside the headlight bucket I found one of those Bulb Keeper wires had shorted to the wire and that sent the 12 volts direct to ground.
What was really bad was the battery was swollen and cracked and all the fluid was on the bike and I had to pry it out of the mounting.
The story is that my bike 1962 CL72 had a replaceable bulb which when I bought a 1963 didn't have. ..................lm

Head light

My '66 parts manual shows 2 different versions of the Dream headlight with a changeable bulb and a parking light. I don't see the clip in either exploded view that holds the bulb in. Is it a Stanley?

Do you just need a bulb or are you replacing the whole shootin' match?

As I noted in an earlier post I also have that exact headlamp. My bike is a Canadian market 1964 C77 Dream.

conbs, I am doing a full restore. I need a bulb and glass part.
Eljeef, do you have one for sale? If so let me know. I would like to keep the bike original but will buy one from Charlie if I must.
