New 66' Dream Owner w/ a Few Questions! Please help! It's possible but not likely that new plugs will just solve your problem. Whenever I start on a new bike though, I do start fresh with new plugs.
New plugs won't make one side fire unless it's the plug itself. New plugs *might* run good for a bit if it's a carb problem it's temporary. Air-gas-spark. CHeck your filter if you have one. Make sure it's not all clogged. If you don't have one there are relatively inexpensive ones you can get. Sounds like you are getting gas. Spark. Now I'm getting a bit older and when my eyes were newer this was far easier so now I do it somewhere it's darker. Pull the plug. Leave it connected. Ground the end to the head. (of the motor). Turn the bike over. You should be able to see the spark jumping across the end of the plug. If not, there is your problem and you have to start tracing back to find where the problem is. I'm sure the guy who is going to help you with your carb can check this if you still aren't sure.

Re: IntakesRemove the left side cover. There should be a door behind the battery (if it's still there) that covers the air cleaner. There's only one carb. Remove the silver carb cover to see more of the carb. 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
