Tango, thanks for the searchtempest link. It basically looks like a decent 'rider' is worth around 2k or so.

I'm not asking you hold my hand and smooth my hair while I make an offer I'm asking the opinion of people who know more than me about the subject.

I can handle my end of the conversation, plus maybe one of you guys might want to talk to this guy later if I don't buy it.

A "fair" price is one both you and the seller are comfortable with. No matter what you pay, the real cost will be in the restoration. Whatever you think it's going to cost is probably just the beginning.
