Re: BenleyYeah! Though it can be a contributing factor to other ermmm... "failures". ;-) I Love you guys LOLWoe that is a PRETTY little bike..and you crack me up..thanks for those posts tho..I can see what it could look like anyway..we're going to get it next Saturday..if it isnt any worse than portrayed in the pictures and on phone. Pictures ALWAYS make a bike look better in my opinion. I have bought 3 dreams sight unseed other than pictures and all but the last one were less than they appeared on the pictures..however I love them all..husband says I'd better turn into a mechanic..he is but time sigh! Oh to retire. Still I'll learn and hopefully be able to rebuild carbs and do lots of other stuff..I used to on the Triumph in the 70's..worked lots of shops over the years..used to build airplanes. The old Thruch crop dusters..did all the instrument panels and wiring harnesses..did a little work on the 111 and 112 (North American Rockwell) but that was all many years ago..still, I know I can still learn. My body may be shot but my brain and hands still work LOL. SO when I get it home I will take some pictures and maybe you guys can direct me to a forum or a place that addressses these bikes. Ive been online fo course but just posted here because this is my "Dream Home". SO later then guys. Thanks again. OH, I know for a fact it needs a right side cover and a tail-light lens..maybe a tailight not sure. It had ignition but no key. No title, but neither does the bike I bought from Texas..it will cost but it can wait until they are running I guess..the other 2 need to be put into my name yet. SO, it should keep me busy into my 80's think?
SO what parts do you haveWhat parts do you have? I guess I need the tail-light, rt sdie cover, maybe an ignition..it's htere but no key..and a chain..that's all I know of until I get it. Just curious. Thanks.
ThanksI think he has the chain guard..he said he took it off to cut the chain becaue he couldnt get the engine to turn over and decided the rear end was frozen up. ?. Anyway, guess I'll need a chain. If I get a key how do you key it to the ignition? I work and an Ace hardware store and we make and key them all the times, but rekeying is for doors..not sure for vehicles. I'll look for the tail-light. Ive seen the sidecovers on Ebay but the carb covers are nearly non existant..do they take th esame ones as my 305"s? Not that that will help..Only one of the 3 have theirs and a pair just went on Ebay for over $200..the only ones Ive seen other than s single one overseas. well I can drive it while I look I guess ha-ha. Thanks for your assistance and I will post pictues after I get it home this week-end. I probably shouldn't buy it but it appeals to me. Thanks again.
The chain guard is a 2 piece upper and lower, just like the Dream. The carb covers from a Dream do not fit. Chain can be had from your local bike shop probably. Its a 428 chain with 108 links.
