Scruffy '68 CL77 to not so scruffy 305

I got this bike as payment for a top end overhaul on a friend's Triumph Tiger, it had a shredded seat, missing front fender and mismatched colors all over it, but it ran okay.

I already had another 305 that also ran, but had an incorrect rear fenders and tail light, the seat was pretty rough, and the tank logo had been bondo'ed over.

So, I took all the best stuff and came up with this:

This will have to do 'till I have time to tear it completely down and do an actual refurb on it; but for now, it's a mostly complete, mostly original "10 footer".

It got almost as many comments as any two of the other 8 bikes I took to a shine & show last weekend at the beach.

"I had one of those when I was in the navy" (or high school), or "my brother had one" (or cousin), or "that's just like the one I learned to ride on"...
