cam chain tensioners & pics

Post by Dick Eastman » Sat Aug 27, 2011 8:17 pm

I bought a '63 Dream tensioner set today, with nice rubber. Bike had 5K on it. My '66 Srambler on r.h. in following pics:

The Dream wheel is 1.385"dia., the Scrambler is 1.530"dia.; the Dream arm length is 2.660" ctr-to-ctr, the Scrambler is 2.765" ctr-to-ctr.

I don't know if this would have any affect on operation, as this is all spring loaded, or why Honda made them different. The rubber on my Scrambler is hard, and somewhat chewed up.
Bottom line: Will the Dream tensioner work ok?

As usual, all insights welcome and appreciated.
Thanks,
Dick

Correction on the above post : The Dream tensioner is from a 1965, not a 1963.
