CL 77 mirrors

Post by team roper » Sun Jan 03, 2016 3:51 pm

Gentlemen, I have a 67 CL 77 that has round mirrors which I do not believe are o.e.m. I have been looking for some original mirrors which I think were all rectangle shaped but here is my problem. I have found numerous original mirrors, either new or as new, but they all have 8mm stems. The brackets and mirrors on my scrambler are 10 mm. From what I can tell the 10mm models were not as prevalent as 8mm. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? I have not been able to locate original mirrors with 10mm. stems. Thank you,
George

Roper, I believe the scrambler mirrors and perches are 8mm

Your perches were originally threaded to accept 8mm mirror stems. If your bike still has original perches on it someone used a 10mm tap on them.
