OK so I have 3 Scramblers all in boxes. I followed these for years and finally have them in my garage. Plan is to build one with all the best parts and sell the rest to offset cost of build. I will have many questions but will start with this one as to challenge all you experts. I am putting together a rolling chassis to see what I have. First issue is two of the front ends have fork legs that are metal on the bottom and one is aluminum. Whats the diff? Is one better than the other? BTW years are 66, 67, and 68. Have titles for all 3.
Also where can I get a good manual to put this thing together? I have no motorcycle building experience to speak of. Have done several cars.

CL77-1014095, all after this # used the aluminum legged forks. Associated items with the forks are big brake wheels (aluminum forks), small brake wheels (steel forks), front fender and brace, 6 mounting hole (aluminum forks) & 8 mounting holes and brace for the steel forks. I'd start with frame #'s and start sorting thru parts and put them with the correct frames. Many changes throughout these, swingarms, seats, gas tanks just name a few. Dick Johnson
