I wanted one back in the day but ended up with a C200. This one I guess filled the want decades later! It had been barn stored for many years, last registered in '73, one owner bike bought new at Bellevue Honda. Not a rip in the original seat and the complete tool kit. Stuck engine but now up and running, I've ridden it! Glad you guys like it, sorry Randy looks like it's well on it's way to recovery, the whole bike could be yours.........................................

A white C110 was also my first street legal bike. I was headed to the dark side and had accumulated enough money to buy a used Yamaha 80. My Dad stepped in and said "if you are going to get killed, do it on a new bike." A Honda dealer had just opened in my home town, so the money was just enough to buy a new Sport 50. $315 out the door. I rode the wheels off of it, not much of an exaggeration since both wheels were replaced before it went to it's final rest. It was finally parted out after I had moved on to a CL160 and then a Super Hawk. I still have the title.

Finally had some time to dig into the CL72. Clutch cover had 2 screws and was loose. Oil filter was missing the shaft washer. Replaced the washer, new gasket, screws and oil. Carbs were clean, checked for spark, cleaned points and it lit right off. Some trouble with the left side. Went through the carbs checking for incorrect parts, replaced 120 mains with 125's, slow jet on left was plugged, set the timing and adjusted the valves, valves on the left side were tight. Lit it off again and it runs great. Wiring was a disaster, I'm amazed at what I find by the shade tree mechanic's out there. Wires soldered together, extra wires to the ignition switch, wire nuts and the loom wrapped in duct tape. All history now as it's all been replaced with a nice original loom.
A few more items to address, oil leak on right side, replace the speedo with correct non hi beam indicator type, seat, and front fender. Then it's either on to cosmetic items or pass it off as a project to someone else. Dick Johnson
