Stator insulation damage

Post by malcolmgb » Fri Jan 31, 2014 6:40 pm

This is the stator on my CL72, there is some of the insulation missing, It was like this when I dismantled it with no signs of any impact damage on the outer cases. Is there any static resistance checks I can do since it will be sometime before the engine will be rebuilt and I can check the output from it. Can I cover it with anything to prevent any further damage or deterioration.

Not to worry.
As you can see all wire contacts all wire so not to worry.
I usually add some clear RTV to make it look better. ........lm
