Now ready to finish off tank and install on 66 cl77. Should one use any type of sealant between flat area on top of fuel cock body as it sits against bottom of gas tank?
I have a tube of #518 Loctite Gasket Eliminator Sealant, it is red and gooey like a gel.
Use it on threaded bolts also? The oval rubber gasket on top of fuel cock body is in excellent shape & should make a good seal by itself. Just wondering if I should use anything else. Thanks all.

Fuel Cock Body ReInstall
The rubber seal will work fine by itself. Mask off the spot that will be covered by the petcock before painting the tank, the seal needs to be against bare metal, gas will wick right through a layer of paint and bubble up the finish around the petcock. The mounting screws work best with a fiber washer under the head for sealing purposes.
