Hi All, I'm a new member to the forum. Not new to vintage Japanese motorcycles, I've had a few and go back to the late sixties and the little Jap trailbikes. My first ride of anything over 100cc and one cylinder was a '68 (candy blue) 305 scrambler! I still have visions of me flapping in the breeze behind that monster. Man was it fast!! I've had a couple of superhawks and one bitsa' hotrod scrambler over the years, but am no expert on these bikes. I just recently picked-up a '68 scrambler (candy orange) #10668xx (I think that #8 is supposed to be a #3, but it got on the title as a #8). I've got it running good with 7800 miles showing, but the chrome is rust damaged. Some of it will not be replateable, so I'll be looking for a few good pieces. The bike is currently a good rider. This leads me to a couple of questions I have and it looks like I've come to the right place. The rear fender is not a good candidate for a replate. Are the painted rear fenders the same as the '68 fender excepting the chrome? Does anybody know of a source for an original Honda key #NA303? I know this gets "beaten to death", but is the silver paint on the engine cases the same as those on the fork sliders, etc.? I know, I have to get Bill Silvers' book. I let mine go with my Hawk a few years back. I'll post a photo of bike as soon as I get my new computer loaded-up with the programs. Thanks, Rob
