CL77 Wiring Harness Foleys

Is there a chance that those two wires would have been hooked up to a set of turn signals at one time? It appears that they run from the front of the bike all the way to the back of the bike, just a thought. Some bikes, depending on what countries they were sent to for the original sale were required to have turn signals, not sure on this though, and not sure of the color wires that would have been attached, or maybe some PO had turn signals on then took them off and left the wires. In any case, might think of getting all the other wires hooked up and working as advertised, then play with the two in question. I have a feeling that those wires were factory placed, they have factory ends, and they run all the way through the original grey casing. Rickytic
The 1967 harness and the ones available after production have 3 wires that were for turn signals.
I've never seen them on a wire drawing so I suspect they were there for use in other countries. ........lm
Rickytic and LM that makes sense and I'm glad you brought it up. What I can't figure is why there would be two female connectors at the front with 3 connections each and only two female connectors at the rear with one connection each; maybe the relay only needs to go in one part of the wire? As well as a spare set of female connectors that look stock that are on the line just before the ignition/tail splits. One is black (ground). These may be the original brake light switch connections.
Also I've attached a picture of the wiring harness from the Clymer's manual for a reference. I've modded it to explain/question some things. If you go back and watch my first video, that shows the extra wiring I'm talking about in my poor description above.
I think we should Keep It Simple.
There are 3 spare wires. ......lm
Spitfire,
Number 2 in your diagram The two wires that you seem to think have been added appears to be the wires that lead to the brake switch and are part of the original harness. The original brake switch has two little posts that stick up with springs and washers on them, those two wires with no connectors on the end stick through the little holes in the posts on the brake switch when you push the springs and washers down. Number 1 in your diagram That is the ground wire that attaches to the upper motor mount where your coils are located. the wire attaches to frame where the bolt goes into the motor mount and attaches to the frame What other wires are you concerned about? We can do this if we do it one at a time. By the way, I am happy that LM has chimed in, he is extremely knowledgable on these old bikes and has provided me with answers to many questions. Tic
Rickytic,
Thank you! That means that the existing brake switch wires I have are likely stock. I am missing that engine ground though which is concerning as I have all of the other black wires. Yes I too am glad for you and LM helping me out. If you watch the vid in my first post it outlines all of my wires. LM correctly said I have 3 unidentified wires which he suggested could mean it's a newer harness with wiring for blinkers. My latest issue is a horn that only clicks when I press the button. I tested w an ohm meter and it seems to be stable. Toyed with the sound screw as well, no luck but that ground wire your reference could be suspect?
