CL77 that sold for 22,700 in Jan 2008

Post by esptj » Sat Jan 17, 2009 10:47 am

I am not a regular on this forum but I came across this via a friend. The CL77 that sold on e-bay in Jan 2008 was mine. It really did fetch $22,700 and the deal went through. I was shocked. So, for those who think it "urban legend" it was a real deal. By the way, the buyer was quite happy with his purchase.

Call me a cynic, but I think someone's pulling forumers' trousers down! Anyone else out there smell something? Vacuna ca-ca?

Let's see. I went out of my way to post this and gave my real name with my real phone number. I suppose you want to see the bank statement where payment was made? What reason would I have to make this up? TJ Jackson

If you're for real, apologies for any offence and bloody well done with that sale!

If you're on a 'wind-up', it's a good one!!

reason to make it up? garner attention for your business which you listed as well.

possible? sure.
happened? not likely.
matters to this forum and the exchange of knowledge regarding the repair and enjoyment of these bikes? not at all.

$22,000.00 CL77s

LAST MAY AT THE "LEGEND" SHOW I TALK TO A FELLOW WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE SOLD HIS CL77 RSTORATION ON EBAY FOR OVER $22,000.00. I DON'T REMEMBER THE YEAR MODEL IT WAS BUT HE AND HIS FRIEND SAID IT WAS PRETTY NICE. AT THE TIME I ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS A LOT TO PAY FOR ANY CL77. HOWEVER NOW HAVING SEEN HOW CRAZY THINGS DO GET ON EBAY. ONE DAY SOMETHING IS WORTH $100 ON EBAY AND A WEEK LATER THE SAME ITEM CAN"T GET A BID OVER $20 AND THE REVERSE ALSO HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO TIMING, TIMING ON EBAY IS LIKE LOCATION IN REALESTATE.
