right side cover removal

Post by eddy7 » Mon Nov 06, 2017 9:25 am

Just got the last of the very corroded screws removed from the rt. side cover and the kick starter pedal removed as well but the spline shaft part of the pedal does not want to move ! I need to remove it to remove the cover. Does it require a special puller? Any help would be great. THANKS.

Did you remove the stator cover?

I'm assuming you need to remove the brake pedal first and can not because it is stuck on the spline. First remove the bolt, then insert a medium common screw driver into the gap enough to relieve the grip and pull the pedal off the shaft. Rusty

The kick start pedal will come away with the casing. Then you can, if you want, separate the pedal from the casing by removing a circlip that also retains the spring. You can use the kick start to help pull the case off.
